I can not believe it is alrealy December 1st

Things have been so busy here with Sue getting use to her new life and us helping as much as we can, along with Ho Ho time being here. I can not believe it is so close to Christmas already. You would not believe it, but the powers that be at Wal-Mart are still cutting our hours plus so many employees have quit because of it and they are not being replaced so the customer is really the looser. We employees who are still here are so over worked by having to cover 4 or 5 departments at times there is no way we could do Customer Service as Sam Walton taught us to do. It breaks my heart but I can not be even 3 places at one time to help the customers who have any questions. HOPEFULLY THE BOSSES WILL SEE HOW WRONG THIS IS AND CHANGE BEFORE THE MAJOR CUT BACK IN HOURS IN JANUARY TO MARCH. Just have to leave it in God's Hands and know he will work it out. GOD BE WITH ALL OF YOU MY DEAR FRIENDS and I will post when I can. LOVE TO YOU and sorry for my gripe session but I do feel better just getting it off my chest.

Make it a GOOD week, a BETTER weekend and a DOUBLE BLESSED SUNDAY.

Almost back to normal.

It is so nice to almost be back to normal. Ernie and Sammie made a fast trip to Arkansas. They left on Sunday and were back Wednesday so we did play cards last night. It was so much FUN and I won two games. We even had 5 playing last night (Ernie, Sammie, Terrier (Ernie's dsughter), Stacy (Terrie's friend) and me. We had so many playing we had to use 7 decks of cards and it sure took a long time to play one hand in the game and it takes 4 hands for one game. We laughed so much my sides were sore when I got home.

Sue is doing better but still in need of your prayers. She is trying to adjust to living alone, it must be hard after being married for almost 30 years. I am glad we live so close so all she has to do is call and we can be there in 2 min. I hope that is a comfort for her.

HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT WEEKEND AND A SUPER BLESSED SUNDAY. LOVE TO Y'ALL.

I can not get over the LOVE of GOD, and Blog World

As I have had the time today I grab my EVO and pass the time by reading my followers blogs plus some I just really like to read and comment on as I can. EVERYONE I HAVE READ TODAY GOD HAS AIMED AT ME TO PUT ME AT EASE ABOUT CALVIN. THANK YOU LORD FOR YOUR LOVE FOR ME. I can not express how comforting this is. Thank you all my friends. The really neat part of this is He has done this for me before. He is sooo good to me. THANKS AGAIN MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY IN THE BLOGGINGWORLD.

Calvin is at REST NOW

Calvin passed at 2:22 this morning. It was not nearly as bad as the Drs have told us it could have been. Jerry and I were both with him as well as Sue, his wife and Vickie, his daughter. THANK YOU ALL MY FRIENDS FOR YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS, THEY HAVE SURE BEEN FELT AND APPRECIATED. Please keep Sue in your prayers, her health is my big concern now. When I know more I'll let you know.

Update -Sorry I have been gone so long

I have missed posting sooo much but things have been so hectic here I have barley had time to read my friends blogs. Calvin is in a bad way and it is really hard to care for him. I feel his time is short and want to do all I can for him and Sue but having to work and care for them have been a full time obligation. Vickie (his daughter) got here yesterday and that helps, and he was moved into Loving Care on Monday. He will be there til Friday then he has to go either back home or to a Nursing Home. I still can not see why he is so set not to go to a nursing home. I am ready to go today if my boys told me to, I even told them so a few years ago. I was shocked at Rich's answer, "Oh no Mom, we have this all worked out, Gerry gets the bullets, I get the gun and Brian (their step brother) is in charge of hiding the body. We worked all this out to take care of Dad and Debbie (their step mom)." A few week later I pulled something stupid, topical goofy Mom stuff and Rich turned to Gerry and said "Do you need to get the bullets, I'll get the gun." I just said "Not yet, not yet I'm not ready. I promise I can do better." We all had a big laugh. In case you can't tell I am very very proud of my boys, their wives, my GRANDsons and the life they have made for themselves. THANK YOU LORD FOR MY BOYS THAT YOU HAVE MADE INTO STRONG MEN, HUSBANDS AND FATHERS. That is what is going on at the FUNNY FARM for now. Will let you know when and if anything changes. LOVE TO YOU ALL and YOUR FAMILIES. MAKE IT A GOOD WEEK AND EVEN A BETTER WEEKEND.

I had soooo much fun at Card Night last night

Last night was SOOOO much fun, almost back to normal. Yea for GIRLS NIGHT OUT! I can not tell you how long it has been since we could get together to relax and just enjoy playing cards. It was so much fun. THANK YOU LORD FOR DEAR FRIENDS AND REAL FAMILY CLOSE BY TO VISIT. DO NOT KNOW HOW I WOULD SURVIVE WITHOUT DEE (my sister who lives in Amarillo). We may not talk every day or get together as much as we would like, but I just know she is there if I need her. I was very blessed with my family GOD gave to me.

MAKE IT A GOOD WEEKEND AND BLESSED DAY!!!

WE HAVE R-A-I-N, at least enough to measure again YEA!!

It was not much, 1/2" but at least it was some. However it was so scattered and random they did not get any at the Airport (where the National Weather Service is) so officialy we are still at 2.64" for the year when it should be over 15" by now. We have also broken the record for days over 100, the old record was 26 days in 1953, I can remember hearing stories of that time and wonder how they survived back then. Not much Refrigerated A/C back then, shoot most people did not have any A/C at all (we did not til '59 - I remember when we got it). Well now the record is 47 days and they say we are sure to go over 50 days maybe 60 for this year. Childress (just South East of us and where my Grandparents use to live and a lot of my Mom's family still live) have had it worse then us on the temps. They are usually hotter then us but this year is horrendous, 96 days over 100 and they are saying it will be will over 100 days for them by the time Fall gets here. It helps to be on what they call the Caprock, just a higher elevation so it is not as HOT.This is one year I am ready for Fall to get here.

As for the girls, they are home and safe. Thank you for all your prayers. We will go over to help unpack till I have to go to work. I work 1 - 10 tonight and 4 - 10 the rest of the week, still having to deal with the cut back in hours. That is 24 for this week and 28 for next week. Not good for Full Time work, even the Part Time are getting 16 - 20 hours. Please keep all of us (and our customers) in your prayers.

MAKE IT A GREAT WEEK, I know I am going to make mine the best yet.

just to let you know

The Girls are on their way back from Arkansas, I will be so glad when they are back home. THANK YOU all my friends and family for your prayers for them. In talking with them by phone all went well. JUST WANT THEM HOME. Jerry said since we had missed so many card nights he was not going to fuss when I wanted to go play cards any more. That is a good deal.

We have been real busy with Calvin lately. His bad days have been more then his good days. He is really having trouble breathing and with his oxygen legal up to 5 (the highest it will go) and still having trouble breathing. The nurses with Hospice say it has to do with him having trouble with the carbon dioxide he is breathing out. I had never thought of that, I was just concerned with getting the oxygen in. His O2 level in his blood bounces around from 98 which you want to 70 or 75 which is bad. PLEASE JUST KEEP HIM IN YOUR PRAYERS.

HOPE EVERYONE IS HAVING A BLESSED SUNDAY AND WILL MAKE IT A GOOD WEEK. LOVE AND BLESSINGS TO YOU ALL.

New Update

After going out and reading a lot of the other awardee posts I must apologize to my readers. I did not realize I was getting so wordie in my response. I just wanted you to get to know me. I promise I will do better next time. LOVE AND BLESSINGS TO EVERYONE

Yeaterday I got the biggest Surprise ever

I was so shocked when I was reading all my usual blogs I follow every day. Beth at Lifestyle Beauty Nuggets has passed on an Award to me. I have been reading blogs for a wile now but have only had my blog since last Christmas and still do not know how to do a lot yet. I tried all day yesterday to get the button (it is so inviting and if Beth only knew how much I LOVE Strawberry Pie, you will have to go to her blog to get a look ;-) HA HA HA) I do have a photo of it on my phone now for me. THANK YOU SO MUCH BETH.

Now I have to tell you 7 things about me and pass this on to 7 of my Blogger Friends. Step 1:

1. Favorite day of the week (I took this point from Beth): Saturday - When I inherited my first 2 GRANDsons I was exposed to the best life I ever knew. Grandmother is the best Job Title there is. I had enough seniority at work to request my days off. I went with THURSDAY - to have a day set aside for Dr Appointments (my husband is a Cancer Survivor) and SATURDAY - so I could be a Soccer Grandma. My GRANDsons are the best in the world. If you did not know that just ask me.

2. My youngest son is starting the best adventure of his life yet. August the 3rd he has moved his darling wife and my only other GRANDson to Weybridge England, just outside London and just before the riots started. I did not hear from them til the 10th in an e-mail. ALL IS FINE and they LOVE ENGLAND. They are both teachers and will be teaching in the same school again like they did when they first got married. GOOD LUCK TO YOU GUYS

3. I live 6 miles out of the town I was born in and have lived in all my life, on a farm my husband of 24 years has lived all his life. Our little bit of Heaven on earth is only 3 acres but it is our heaven. Grandad Andy homesteaded 6 sections of land and divided it among 3 daughters and 1 son (Dad). When I came to the family Dad had sold off all but 8 acers. When Mom and Dad died we got 3 acers and the oldest son got 5 and the homeplace and shop. Which was fine with us - we couldn't pay the taxes on the homeplace. Like I said "Our little spot of Heaven on earth."

4. My Mother-in-law had guite a family history herself. Her Dad owned 13 sections of what is now Palo Duro Canyon that he bought from Charles Goodnight (one of the early settlers of Texas Panhanle).

5. We have a small family at home now, 2 dogs and 2 cats. All but one are abandoned pets. Jerry and I are both softies and can not turn away those sad eyes. My biggest delight would be to catch those DUMPSTER (you can not call them people cause they are not) and put them on an island with no food or fresh water and see how they like it.

6. I love trying all crafts - will try anything at least once, twice if I like it.

7. Like I said earlier I am new to blogging and I love it. I have so many wonderful new friends and a lot of them I feel are family. However I am still learning so I promise I will post photos soon as well as figure out how to link up with other posts. Don't give up on me cause I am not.

AS FOR PART 2: I CAN NOT PASS THIS ON RIGHT NOW BUT I WILL AS SOON AS I CAN. SORRY BETH IF I LET YOU DOWN.

Sorry to say "No Rain Last Night"

The storm got to 5 miles NW of us and aiming straight for us and the storm split, missing Amarillo and Canyon. Better luck next time. Still high and dry. Guess I really do need to change my sign on to DUSTBOW. NO RAINBOWS IN OUR FUTURE.

HOPE EVERYONE ELSE IS HAVING A BLESSED SUNDAY. BY FOR NOW

LOOKS LIKE WE HAVE "RAIN" ON THE WAY

Just watched the weather man and he said it was raining at Boys Ranch on it's way to us, About 20 miles away. Will let you know in the morning how much. ANY WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED even if Jerry has to finally mow the grass or weeds, which ever comes first. He has not even had to cut the weeds this year yet. LOVE AND BLESSINGS TO EVERYONE.

THANKS GOOD FRIENDS FOR YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS

Ernie and Sammie are two of the strongest woman I know and a great witness for God in everything they do. So you can know a little more about them, Ernie is my Wife-In-Law (Jerry's first wife) and my very best friend. She has remained single since their divorce in '75 and has raised a daughter (Terrie Dee-50) and a son (Jerry Raymond-44) doing a very good job of it. Sammie is her oldest sister and they come from a good strong family, total 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Besides the surgery she is having to deal with, she just lost her husband little over 3 years ago after 60+ years of marriage. Ralph is now in heaven with their Mom and Dad. I wish all families could be like theirs or mine. GOD HAS BLESSED US REAL GOOD THERE. THANK YOU LORD.

I just ask that you keep them in your prayers as they go back to Arkansas to pack up more of her stuff. They leave out tomorrow and will come back next Sunday (the 28th). THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND CONCERN.

Still no rain - BUT I DID GET TO PLAY CARDS TONIGHT

At least it was a little back to normal tonight. I got the chance to play cards with Ernie and her sister tonight. Like I said almost back to normal. We will not get to play Saturday because they need to go back to Arkansas early Sunday to pack up some more of Sammie's stuff to move it to Amarillo. PLEASE KEEP THEM IN YOUR PRAYERS, this trip there is no one to go with them to help them pack and carry stuff. On the other trips back they had someone to go with them plus others there to help out but this time it will be a 71 year old, packing up a 79 year old's stuff who can not walk since she is getting over major surgery on both her legs. When Ernie told me she had knee surgery I knew it would be hard but her scars are from her ankles up to half way up her thighs. (Both of her legs.) She really needs your prayers for healing. Sammie is doing GOOD but has a long way to go, and the move on top of all this.

JUST HOPE EVERYONE HAS HAD A GOOD WEEK LIKE ME. Make it a good rest of the week and a GREAT WEEKEND.

no more rainbow but " dustbow " for now, THANKS CW

NO LUCK ON THE RAIN TODAY

Sorry to say we have not added to the rain last night or today but the clouds were beautiful to make up for it. Maybe tomorrow! There is always HOPE.

HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND AND A BLESSED SUNDAY.

Really looks like RAIN today

The sky sure looks like it could break out and rain any time, it even feels good outside. I know we just have a 20 percent chance but I hope we will be in the good 20 percent. Last time it rained, it rained in Amarillo and Canyon (18 miles apart) and we did not get a drop. We live exactly half way, 9 miles to Amarillo and 9 miles to Canyou.

Not much left of the week but I hope everyone has a SUPER WEEKEND. LOVE AND BLESSINGS TO ALL OF YOU.

i wish everyone could have a day like I have

Today started out as such a down day that I ever had. Thank goodness it did not last long. I did my gripey post and felt bad about it but it did make me feel better to get it off my chest. I then read the other blogs and I know God was speaking to me through them and it is such a wonderful day now. THANK YOU ALL MY FRIENDS AND MOST OF ALL THANK YOU LORD FOR LOVING ME!

THANK YOU LORD FOR FRIENDS

I feel so BAD for my earlier post but I do feel a lot better for getting it off my chest. After I did my post I went to some of my favorite Blogs to read and comment on and GOD had them all aimed at me. How could I be sooo lucky to have a LOVING GOD like I do and anyone can have if you just ask. OUR GOD IS SO LOVING AND CARING FOR US IT IS AMAZING. How can anyone go one day or one second without his guidance and LOVE.

THANK YOU MY FRIENDS FOR BEING SO IN TUNE TO GOD'S LOVE AND GUIDANCE AND MOST OF ALL THANK YOU GOD FOR LOVING ME.

Prayer is the only help I see. DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO!

This is one time I am real concerned about our bosses and our country. I have worked for Wal-Mart for a long time and two separate time. The first time was back in '82 when WM first opened in Amarillo. They opened the store in March and I started work in June. Back then Sam Walton was in control and he was really a remarkable man and person. Not only was he so concerned about the well-being of the customers and he always treated the employees as family. Everything I know about customer service I owe to him. THANKS SAM! When I came back to WM in '06 I could see some major changes but still our concern was for the customer (some of Sam was still around) and especially our store in Canyon. People would drive from Amarillo (where there are 4 WM's), Hereford or Plainview to come to our store. They always said our store was cleaner and friendlyer then any other WM. We had enough staff and a LOVE for our store and customers so we could do this. Now I do not know what is going to happen. Over the last 2 years they have cut back on hiring new blood employees and when someone retires their position is not filled. Being a college town I would say 70 percent of our employees are students and when they graduate they leave to start their new career. A lot of times they are not replaced till management wakes up to realize we do not have enough people to cover the shifts. Several times last month, not only was I covering the Photo Lab (which I LOVE) I had to cover Electronics, Sporting Goods, Auto Area, Hardware and Toys. How can one person cover that many areas and still have the time to help a customer find what they are needing, let alone know what they need or even are talking about. I can help a customer with buying a camera or camera accessories with my back ground and really help the customer with ideas they may not have thought of. In Electronics I have a basic knowledge of those items. At least I do know what a GPS is as well as a MP3 or 4 Player is and the difference in an iPod, iPad and an iPhone as well as their accessories. I have come a long way in 2 years. But when it comes to auto parts, sporting goods and hard ware I am at a total loss and no HELP at all for the customer. I feel so sorry for them when they ask me a question but there is no one else to ask. On top of the cut back in help there is the cut back in our hours. I am classified as Full Time, untill recently that was 40 hours a week, Part Time got 27 to 32 hours a week. Now FT are lucky if we get 33 hours and some are getting 27, PT get 16 to 20 hours. Who can live on that? I have a 5 hour shift tonight (5 - 10) and 4 hours tomorrow (6 - 10). Just glad on the 20th I start a 10 day vacation, at least that will be a 40 hour week but til then these short weeks mean we have no money to go anywhere. Two of my followers Gina and Beth have posted about a Bucket List and got me to thinking how much I wanted to have a real vacation trip with Jerry this year and go some where (any where) even if just a day or two. We have had one vacation in 23 years of marrage and that was just for 3 days and 2 nights. We at least had a chance to get away so I was really looking forward to getting away this time. Now we do not have money for gas to get out of the drive way. HA HA

Enough on that I really did not mean for this post to be a gripe session but I do feel a lot better now. THANKS MY FRIENDS FOR LETTING ME VENT. At least now I do not feel I need to be on constant alert so that an inocent customer does not stir me up when they ask "What is the difference in an AA battery and an AAA battery?" followed by "What is the difference in an AA 4 and an AA 8 pack?" and this was a college student. I LOVE MY JOB REALLY, dumb customers and all.

Hope everyone makes it a great week and EVEN BETTER WEEKEND. (I know my week is better already) LOVE and BLESSINGS TO ALL OF YOU

WE HAVE R-A-I-N, at least enough to measure

We finally got a little rain, at last enough rain to measure, whole 1/2 inch. It sure smelled GOOD and sure got the temp down to be reasonable for at least a day or maybe two I hope. That puts us a total of 2.67 for the year. HOPE EVERYONE IS AS HAPPY AS WE ARE RIGHT NOW.

Make it a GOOD WEEK, and A GREAT WEEKEND. LOVE TO ALL OF YOU.

Rich, Ginger and JACK hope all is well with you guys, setting up a new HOME has got to be a challenge. LOVE YOU GUYS

Today is a mixed up day

I love my family so very much and I feel toward my follower just the same WE ARE ALL JUST ONE BIG FAMILY and my followers mean so much to me. I know you all and visit your blogs at least twice a day, even if I don't comment each visit. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING MY FRIENDS. Have to run and get back to printing all those wonderful pictures, will writ.more at lunch or when I get off tonight.

About the Photos

In talking with my WANTABE COMPUTER GURU, Rich (my youngest son) he tells me I probably will not be able to post photos from my phone but need a computer to do it. Some how I do not see the library letting me put my best photos on their computer so I can post them. I'm still not giving up, I'll find some way to share. LOVE TO YOU ALL, MAKE IT THE BEST WEEK YET.

Hope everyone has had as beautiful morning as I have

Just finished a date with two of my favorite men. Rich and JACK have been with me most of the morning. They leave for London at 3 tomorrow afternoon. I am sure Ginger is anxious for them to get to London so they can all be together. What an adventure for all three of them. ON BACK TO WAL-MART FOR ME, IT'S BACK TO WORK FOR ME. Have to print out the Photos I just took. By for now will post more later, have to go punch the silly time clock. LOVE TO YOU

Just so you know, not much rain and no prospects next week

Well for sure, officially all the rain we got yesterday was .05 of an inch, how do you even measure .05 of an inch. That makes 2.17 inchs for the year, that should be 13 to 14 inches by now. DO NOT KNOW WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO IF WE DON'T GET SOME MOISTURE SOON. ALL PRAYERS ARE APPRECIATED.

HOPE EVERYONE HAD A GOOD WEEKEND and MAKE IT A GOOD WEEK. LOVE TO YOU ALL.

Saturday, July 30, 2011

We finally got one of those 6" Rains

Like I was telling you earlier we got a 6" rain for about a min and a half. You know 6" between drops. We were on the way to Canyon and I spotted some great clouds (of course I had to get some photos) Jerry was upset with me. He wanted to get on with running our chores. On our trip into town we caught the sprinkles on the windshield, just enough for the dirt to stick. On well we did get rain, can not wait to see the weather to see how much. At home it wasn't even a trace (it was not even enough to measure or it evaporated before we got home). Oh well better luck next time.

Guess Mother Nature likes a good joke

When I got off work last night we had not got a drop of rain and all the storms were headed West. The normal storm surge for here is out of the West or Southwest, winter storms are out of the North. Very few ever come out of the East especially build around us then head East. OH WELL MAYBE NEXT TIME.

Friday, July 29, 2011

WE HAVE R-A-I-N, maybe!

One of the girls that just go off sent me a text, she lives in Hereford - 40 miles west of here, to let me know she was in a heavy rain from Dawn to Hereford. Even had to use her car wipers on high most of the way. Yea Yea. Not one of our famous 6" rains (6" between the drops). When I worked at the Hotel I had a lot of guests ask what the average rainfall was here, I was quick to say "Average 19" a year, and I remember the night it fell last year." the problem is this year it has forgotten to fall at any time.

Maybe we can get some tonight. I will let you know how much in the morning. THANK YOU LORD FOR THE HINT OF RAIN.

Still not able to post photos

I have yet to figure out how to post my photos but I am not a quiter, I'll figure it out yet. Thanks for all your help. Gina I do post with bloger.com but can not find the add button. A few times I have noticed a spot for edit photo or add photo but since I had no photos I did not access it, wish I had now but I will not give up. If all else fails I will ask my Computer Guru son for help. He is great with them but my problem is I do not know what he is talking about when he tries to help. Sorry to say I am a show me learner. HA HA. Part of being in the older generation. I am great with a calculator now but when I tell the kids now " I had trouble in Chemistry Class in school cause my Slide Rule lied to me. " they have no idea of what I am talking about. Generation Gap I guess. But seriously THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP. When I do get it figured out you will get tired of my photos, I have quite a collection. Even more in the last 5 years in the Photo Lab at Wal-Mart.

Everyone BLESSINGS TO YOU and MAKE IT A GREAT WEEK.

YEA we at least have clouds now!

There is hope,we are still in triple digit heat but at least we have clouds today. The first we have had all year. I love our Blue Skies but we need the rain sooo bad. My husband has not even cut the grass one time this year, it has been so dry even the weeds will not grow. I have never seen it this dry. Last winter I thought it was bad being so dry it would not snow, just be so bitterly cold, but this is the absolute worse it can be. HOPE WE GET SOME RAIN SOON.

HOPE I CAN POST THESE PHOTOS ALSO. THANKS Gina for your suggestions maybe we can get it done. If not I still will not give up, I will keep trying.

Hope everyone is having a great week and make it an even better weekend.

Update on Calvin - Really GOOD WEEK

Calvin has had a real good couple of weeks. Sure he has his good days and bad days, but the last 4 days have been the best yet. He has been talking and laughing with Jerry talking about old times and stuff they did as kids. I still get tickled when I hear about how Calvin and Bobby hung Jerry in the barn til he turned blue playing Cowboys and Indians. Jerry was the Indian. Not only have I heard this from Calvin and Bobby but several of their friends they grew up with. With brothers like that who needs enemies, but you let anything happen to one of them, and you would have the other two to deal with.

On top of Calvin having a good week I even got to go play cards Thursday, it was so much FUN and seemed like things were almost back to normal. We even had 5 of us playing, Ernie, her sister, her daughter, her daughter's best friend and me. We tried to get Bruce (Ernie's brother) to play but he was too interested in his TV showes to join us. I did not win but it was sure fun getting to play.

Yesterday was the most fun of all though, Bobby (oldest GRANDson) was finishing up his Summer Band Camp with a concert so we were all there, Gerry (my son), Renee (his Mom), Duncan (his brother), Jack (my youngest GRANDson - here wile his Mom and Dad get ready to move to London) and me. We had sooo much fun all day and Jack is so full of it, talks all the time and is so smart. I know his dad was always smart growing up but not like Jack. I guess he gets that from Ginger too. When he does start school his teachers will have a challenge.

HOPE EVERYONE IS HAVING AS GOOD OF A WEEKEND AS I AM. MAKE IT A BLESSED SUNDAY. Will write more when I know something. LOVE TO YOU ALL

Update on Calvin

We got Calvin out of the hospital yesterday and he is home for now. He did agree to home hospice care but as soon as he got home he was already fussing with the nurse assigned to his case. Hope this will work out. THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND CONCERN.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Will tell your more when I know more. THANKS TO MY FRIENDS AND ALL MY NEW FRIENDS.

Just so you know, Calvin is in CCU again

We were expecting a call form Sue to let us know when to come up to get Calvin, but when she called it was to tell us Calvin had been moved back to CCU. We just talked to her and she said he was critical but stable so he is holding his own. We will see what happen tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having a GOOD week and MAKE IT A GOOD WEEKEND.

HAPPY 4th EVERYONE

Hope everyone has a HAPPY and SAFE 4th. Looks like our holiday is going to be great, Calvin may be coming home today. We will not be having the big group out tonight for the fireworks shows. From our front yard you can watch the show of Amarillo, the Amaillo Gold Sox Baseball team and usually a large church near by put on big showes as well as all our new neighbors moving to the country like to blow up a lot if stuff, it is always fun to watch. This year is different, Mother Nature is messing up everything, it is so dry you can not have fireworks in your possession or sell them because of the fire danger. We even have forest ranger from all over the country here just in case. In the last week I have meet some from Oklahoma, Idaho, Washington and California. THANKS GUYS FOR YOUR HELP JUST IN CASE.

HOPE EVERYONE HAS A SAFE AND HAPPY 4th.

Progress report

Calvin is still in the hospital but holding his own. He has his good days and then some bad ones. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS AND COMMENTS. I do not know which is harder, when someone is taken away suddenly (in a car wreck or accident) or knowing someone is terminal and not know when. With my Mom it was Cancer and I was pregnant at the time. Several Drs had said she could not here by the time Rich got here. He was 4 1/2 when she went to heaven. Even the Drs said she was in the hands of a better physician then they were. But this deal with Calvin is a whole different kettle of fish. When things settle down again I promise to get back to better, HAPPIER and more FUN posts. I have several planning when I have more time.

LOVE TO YOU ALL, HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY 4th.

Just a guick note - THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS

Calvin is doing better, they even moved him out of CCU and into a regular room. Like I said THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS. God isn't through with him yet, please have God give me the right words to tell him so he can end up where he needs to be. I still do not have peace in my heart on where he is going when he does die. HOW DOES ANYONE GET BY ONE SECOND WITHOUT GOD IN THEIR HEART. That is to me the most fearful way to live.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and will have a BLESSED week. God loves you and so do I.

How about a post with no one sick

Yesterday and today have been the most beautiful days I have had in a long time. NO ONE IS SICK OR IN THE HOSPITAL. I even took Calvin to the Dr yesterday and even he said "Calvin do you realize this is the first time I have seen you and you were not sick." He tired out wile we were there and Sue had an appointment with the same Dr. I took Sue on some errands then came home and really enjoyed getting to rest up a little. I did not get to play cards last night (thought I needed to have some special time with Jerry) it was quite relaxing, almost as good as playing cards.

Tonight is going to be SPECIAL too. I am off on a Friday to attend a very special wedding, a very dear friend and co-worker is taking a big step tonight. At 5:00 Max is going to be a groom tonight. They make a VERY BEAUTIFUL COUPLE and are basing their union on the true foundation GOD. I WISH THEM NOTHING BUT THE VERY BEST IN THEIR LIVES.

Hopefully after the wedding I may get some card playing in or at least tomorrow for sure. HOPE EVERYONE HAS A WONDERFUL WEEKEND AND THE GOOD LORD BLESSES YOU REAL SPECIAL. Make it a good day.

Just another quick note

I do have another new phone again ( this is the third phone and the forth new battery in the last three weeks ) hope it will last a wile. As for a bit on "The Life of Lyn" , I was looking forward to a day of rest on my day off Thursday, but that was not to happen. When Jerry came to pick me up at 10 pm Wednesday he informed me Calvin and Sue needed my help fast. When we got to their house Sue was a little disoriented and not real with it. The guys said she had passed out about 9:30 in the front doorway and they had to carry her into the house. I took her blood pressure with her cuff and it was 51/40, I thought don't get excited her cuff just may not work right so I used mine. It registered 59/44, not too good. Trying not to get her excited or Calvin I did not say what it was but that I thought we need to go to the hospital to have them check it. That lead to a night in the ER again. She was even in the same room Jerry was in after the wreck on May 4th. I told the worker they were probably getting tired of seeing us. It was still 67/48 so it was not me doing it wrong and I did need to have her checked out. Needless to say they admitted her around 4:00 Thursday morning, I spent the rest of the day getting her stuff she needed and keeping Calvin posted on what was going on. Her BP was coming up slowly and finally leveled off. I had to go back to work Friday on my usual shift 1-10 and Sue was released from the hospital wile I was at work. Good to get her home. Maybe things will settle down a little now.

One more point on a happy thought " HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACK " my youngest GRANDson is 3 today. In some ways I can not believe it has all ready been 3 years that we have had him added to our family and yet I can not remember our family without him. I can say for a true fact " Being a Mom is nice, but my three GRANDsons are the reason for my life. "THANK YOU LORD FOR LETTING ME BE A GRANDMOTHER" HOPE EVERYONE IS HAVING AS GOOD OF A WEEKEND AS I AM. LOVE TO YOU ALL

Just a quick note

We got Calvin out of the hospital today but he really needed to stay longer and Sue has made herself sick trying to care for him. They both need your prayers a lot. Hope all will be settling down for them. Still having a lot of trouble with my phone, even got a new one and two different batteries for it and it messed up big time on me again. STILL NOT GOING TO GIVE UP, I'LL GET IT LICKED YET.

LOVE YOU ALL AND HOPE YOU HAVE A BLESSED WEEKEND SO YOU CAN MAKE IT A GOOD WEEK.

It's been another crazy week

We have been really busy at work and I am still having trouble with my keyboard. Loads of FUN. The most troubling of all was Thursday when I was looking forward to my day off, Sue called to let us know Calvin was having chest pain since midnight. By 3:00 they were not any better so we call the ambulance and spent the next 6 hours in the ER. They decided to admit him for observation but had decided it was not a heart attack but pluracy pain. That is why it hurt so much to breathe deep and later hurt to breath at all. Well he is still in the hospital but feeling better now. I ended up going back to work Friday just for a rest but things were crazy as usual. We are starting a new program at work about you place an order on line - we pull the order - then you pick it up the day you order it. Fine but no one has showed me about the gimami to handle all the orders and we have yet to make sure what our inventory says we have is what we have on the floor. Anyone in sales knows what a nightmare that is, so needless to say Friday was a nightmare. But I still had Saturday to be off and rest, wrong again one of my co-workers had a death in her family so she asked if I could cover for her just til the night girl came in at noon. No problem, til the morning guy in electronics called in and so did the night girl in the photo lab. Management saw I was already scheduled for 40 hours this week so Saturday would be all overtime which is not allowed at Wal-Mart so I was sent home at 1:30 and I have 6 & 1/2 hours to work off by Friday. Long lunches all week. Anyway that is how my week has gone. I work a 9 - 6 shift tomorrow and hope the girl that called in today will be there tomorrow so she can work 12 - 9.

HOPE EVERYONE IS HAVING A SAFE AND HAPPY HOLIDAY. AND A SPECIAL DOUBLE THANKS TO ALL OUR VETS, I am sorry most people think of you only on Memorial Day and Veterans Day, YOU ARE IN MY PRAYERS EVERYDAY. Thanks to you I AM FREE TO LIVE THE GREAT LIFE WE HAVE IN AMERICA. THANKS AGAIN !!!!

It has been a fast week but all is well

I am still having trouble with my phone and posting but just to let you know we are over the wreck, had to turn in the 2011 Silverraudo Pick-Up after we put 1215 miles and $256.00 in gas in it (sure had a lot of FUN) and the insurance paid for it all. We are still waiting on the hospital and ambulance payment, do not see any trouble though. HOPE YOU ARE GETTING READY FOR A GOOD SUMMER AND MAKE IT A GREAT WEEKEND. WILL POST WHEN I CAN. I am at the library now and Jerry is in the old pick-up so guess I had better go. LOVE TO YOU ALL !!!!!

HOPE I GERT TO GO PLAY CARDS TONIGHT, it has been a wile since I could play cards and I need a GIRL'S NIGHT OUT !!  Ha Ha.

Jerry's brother died Monday and the funeral is tomorrow. Sorry to say there is a LOT of hurt feelings and bad blood in his family and it looks like everyone is coming to the funeral. I have never seen a family like this one. Maybe God can use this to pull some of them together amd even learn how good it is to have GOD on your side. Please just keep us in your prayers the next two days.
LORD PLEASE KEEP MY EYES AND EARS OPEN SO I A BE YOUR REPRESENTATIVE FOR YOU AT THIS TIME. AND THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR MY FAMILY I HAVE.

I'm all better this morning after a little sleep

I have just this to say. It was not me going to sleep and typing but my phone messing up last night. I have been trying all day to get a key board up so I could post and now that I have one it is back to like it was when II first got my phone.. No spelling helps or puting in capital letters where I need them. I need my second key board back but not the swipe. If you don't hear from me for a wile I'm still here reading all your posts but can't type to put in my 2 cents worth. LOVE YOU ALL AND GOD BLESS YOU REAL GOOD TIL I GET MY PHONE FIXED.
BY FOR NOW. LOVE MOMMA LYN

Sorry about the end of that last post

I am so tired i am going to sleep as i type on my phone so i am goimg on to bed. Will try to straighten out this mess in the morning. Moral of this post  I had a GREAT WEEKEND AND HOPE YOU DID TOO !!!

I hope everyone had a Super Great Momma Day

My weekend has been so WONDERFUL. We took a Road Trip Saturday to Groom Texas to see the Cross they have there. I have heard about it since they started building it and have seen going down I-40 but this is the first time we have stopped to see what everyone is talking about. IT IS BEYOND INCREDABLE, I have never seen anything like it, but then I do not get away from the Panhandle that much. (Jerry and I have had 1 vacation in 23 years of marriage and that was to listen to a sales pitch to buy some time share property, oh well it got us out of town for 3 days). Back to the Cross at Groom. It is so big and tall you can see it from I-40 but when you get to it up close it is so tall it is unreal. Around the base there are 14 stations with scriptures and bronze statues. They all just really tug at your heart. then to the west is tut Lords Supper and behind that are the three crosses. To the South is the empty tomb with the stone rolled away and the angel inside. THAT PART WAS WORTH THE TRIP. To the Left was a small building that looked like it might be offices but when I looked closer I realized it was an exact replica of the Shroud of Turin. It is one thing to read about it and see pictures but to actually see it and be in the room with it,is beyond words. I ready wish I could have stayed in there longer, they have chairs in there so you can rest and watch a DVD playing on information on the Shroud. I wish Jerry wasn't getting tired so I could have stayed and listened to their information. On to the East side to the Fountain with Jesus and the scriptures about the Living Water. On around to the right there was total see of the Ten Commandments. The next and last station got me the most. You could tell it was a sculpture of Jesus holding something in his hand and what looked like a grave marker.that read " Dedicated to the Sanctity of LIFE - In loving Memory of the - Innocent Victims of ABORTION - Before I formed you in the womb I KNEW YOU. Jeremiah 1:5 " and that object in Jesus's hand is a very small fetus. My heart broke right there. I have often wondered what those idiots who encourage or help with abortions are going to tell God at the Judgment Thrown. I would not want to be in their shoes. All in all that trip was well worth the time and a BEAUTIFUL DAY.

On Sunday I was really bumbed out cause I put in 6 months ago to be off on Momma Day and was turned down. Look bosses I'm the only Mom in the Photo Lab and Electronics but that didn't get me off for Momma Day. A usual 9 - 6 but they let me go at 2:30 and I celebrated the rest of the day. Started with lunch at Furrs, not a good idea toooo many. Then on to Dee's so I could give her, her MOMMA DAY CARD. She is to only MOMMA I have I have now. THANKS DEE FOR ALWAYS BEING THERE FOR MR. When we left there we went to Gerry's to be with the boys and see how Renee's Day was going. Good long visited Kerry even went with mded up at Ernie's to play cards and yes I did win both games. All .I'm

I just realized why Mom has been on my mind so much

When I just got through with that post I realized why Mom has been on my mind so much. Sorry Mom I just realized its the 6th of May. Mom would have been 98 today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM. HOPE YOU AND DOT HAD A SUPPER GREAT DAY. Dot went to Heaven on May the 7th last year. Miss you Dot but I can only imagine you two being together a year now. LOVE YOU BOTH.

Just thought I must add for those of you new to my blog. Dot is my oldest sister and my twin who was 20 when I was born. Dee is my other sister who was 15 when I was born. Do I need to say that is why I have been spoiled ALL MY LIFE. BUT YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOOOO MUST LOVE AND I DID HAVE ME SHARE PLUS. THANK YOU LORD FOR MY SPECIAL FAMILY.

Everything I said and thought about insurance yesterday I take back now.

After the last two days I have had, I take back ALL I said and thought about insurance companies and agents. It is so nice to have them on your side. Mine and the gentleman's who hit us at a stop light have been so nice today, the Ranger is in the shop to be totally repaired. New tail gate and bumper along with repairing the seat and seat belts, like I said we were hit really hard. Jerry was taken by ambulance the the hospital and a lot of blood tests and a CAT Scan were done. All tests came back good, so I got to take him on home. Then the battle of the insurance companies got started. Not only are Safe Co fixing the Ranger, paying all the bills at the hospital but they let us get a rental til the truck is fixed. This is great since my pick-up is still in the shop. Yea for insurance agents that care for people and care how you get to and from work. Most of all THANK YOU LORD FOR BEING THERE FOR US AND WITH US. I can't believe we both had our seat belts on. I usually do not ware my seat belt unless I am driving, that is changing from this day on. PLEASE EVERYONE WHEN YOU GET IN A VEHICLE, PLEASE PLEASE BUT THE BELT ON. Don't just hold it so it looks like it is on, so you won't get a ticket. They are there for a reason, from now on my vehicle will not move til everyone is buckled in.

Hope everyone has a GREAT WEEKEND and a BLESSED MOTHER'S DAY. Take it from an old lady, you don't know what a wonderful MOM you have til she is in HEAVEN and you can't tell her how much you thank her for what she taught you and you didn't realize it. JUST WAIT TIL I GET TO HEAVEN AND I CAN TELL HER HOW MUCH I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED HER AND WHAT SHE STOOD FOR, I WISH ALL OF YOU COULD HAVE KNOWN MY MOM. Even when she was attacked with her third round of CANCER she was such an example of a true GODLY WOMAN. THANK YOU LORD FOR GIVING ME TO HER.

EVERYONE HAVE A GREAT MOMMA DAY !!!

Getting to know you Sunday! - on Thursday this week

This has been a wild and crazy week, especially with the wreck last night. I just found out I don't like insurance companies too much either, mine or his. Can't wait to see how this turns out, we need the truck fixed as soon as possible cause my pick-up is in the shop and I'm not too fond of driving or riding with the seat bent way back. Enough on the wreck, on to more enjoyable thoughts. Getting to know you Sunday / what ever day.

1. did you watch the royal wedding?

My DVR was full or I would taped it and watched it when my husband was not around but I did get to see the two kisses on the balcony. Looks like these kids are for real - HOPE THEY CAN ENJOY THE HAPPY EVER AFTER PART !!!

2. tea and crumpets or coffee and a scone?

Have never liked Coffee much but do enjoy a spot of Tea at times (Hot or Iced). I have not tasted a crumpet but I would like to try one sometime. I do believe I have a bit of Limey Blood in with my Irish since I enjoy TEA sooo much.

3. who's cuter prince william or prince harry?

To me Prince William is too much like the Stuffy English Monarch type wile Harry looks like he would be more fun to be with. Oh the pressures of being KING someday.

4. can you speak with an english accent?

No Way, I have lived in Texas too long to even fake an English accent.

5. do you own a fancy hat?

Just lately have I started wearing hats, it started with a straw hat that I pined up the sides on so it would look like cowboy hat and put a Santa Hat on top of it (it is now a tradition to help me get through Christmas Time at Wal-Mart - Blitz Day til Christmas Day) and I can't show up to work without it. The second hat was a Green Bowler with a Rainbow Hat Ban to ware on St Pat's Day. My fancyest hat is one I ware for Easter, a wide brimed Dark Blue with a vail all across the front and a lot of flowers added, that change each year. My favorite one is a wide brim made from cloth with Stars and Stripes on one side and Stars on a blue background on the other for 4th of July. At work they call me the " Hat Lady ", I guess they enjoy it as much as I do. I can not wait til I figure out how to post Photos so you can see them. MAYBE SOON.

6. would you rather live in a castle or an english cottage?

I have never been in a real castle but from the pictures, they look real cold and uninviting but an English Cottage has "Come on in" all over it, especially if it has a BIG FIREPLACE. I have always been a sucker for a fireplace.

7. how old were you when prince charles and princess diana got married? were you even born? July 29, 1981

31 - And after reading this question it dawned on me, I knew about the wedding but could not remember watching it, why not. When I did the research on the date I knew why, it was July 29, 1981 and my divorce from the boys Dad was final July 29, 1981. I don't think I was in much of a wedding mood that day, so no I did not watch it.

8. have you found your prince charming?

Because of that divorce I can HONESTLY say I now have my Prince Charming, we were married September 18, 1987 and it has been 23 years of being treated like a Queen, sometimes too much like a Queen, way too over protective, but I love him and he loves me and that is what counts.

Now that is my answers to "Getting to know you Sunday" and I hope you have had a GREAT WEEK AND ARE RESTED UP FOR A SUPER GREAT WEEKEND. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES. MAKE IT A GOOD DAY ALWAYS!

Just a quick note to let you know I'm still here.

I can not believe it is April 5 already and Thursday. Where is the time going. I total had plans for Getting to know you Sunday, I had the questions, even my answers set but got busy, didn't get it posted and it is Thursday all ready. Too top it all off we were in a wreck yesterday. Stopped at a red light a guy hit us from behind. We are OK just shook up, but our pick-up didn't fair so well. I'm busy today with insurance and all but will be back as soon as I can to fill you in. Please keep Jerry in your prayers, he was more shook up then me plus he has had 2 neck and 2 back surgery already. GOD WILL HANDLE THIS FOR US AND GET US THROUGH IT ALL. THANK YOU LORD FOR BEING THERE FOR US AND WITH US IN THE WRECK !!!!

It is amazing what you can find on the internet

I just spent a few min's trying to see what spin class and zumba are. Since I have never liked bikes since I was a small child with my second hand bike with a towel warped around where the seat went so it would be low enough for my legs to reach the pedals, I really think I would like to try a Zumba Class. I love to dance and think it might be fun. As a young girl raised in the Southern Baptist Church and being told "Good girls DO NOT dance." I never danced. I went to all the school dances on Saturday Night, then spent Sunday Morning in the Pastors Office being lectured on the evils of dancing. Now the other young people were at the dance, but I was the only one that answered " YES " when asked "Did you go to the dance last night?" When I had my first divorce even all the singles I ran around with at church could not believe I could not dance. I was a skating instructor and I did teach Cotton Eye Joe, Schotish, Waltz or anything else on Skates but take my skates off I couldn't do it. I kept hearing " Good Girls DO NOT Dance! ". It took a wile but I learner GOOD GIRLS DO DANCE and have a lot of fun at it. Of course my main dance was SQUARE DANCE with Western Dance between Tips. Yes I think I would like to Zumba. THANKS FOR TELLING ME ABOUT IT. See you at the class.

Getting to know you Sunday! - on Sunday

I can not believe it but I am actually posting this on Sunday, not Wednesday as usual but here goes.

1. what's something you've eaten and liked but didn't think you would?

I will never forget the first time I tried fried okra, I did not want it but was in a situation where I could not politely refuse it. I am so glad I tried it now, it is one of our staples and one of the few vegetables I can get down Jerry. I still have not tried Calf Fries or Raw Oysters, and that is NOT going to happen.

2. plastic surgery .... yea or ney?

If it is a MAJOR REPAIR (cleft palette, bad scar repair or burn) I could understand and be for that, but for these teenagers wanting to look like Barbie when they are beautiful already I really feel sorry for them and wonder what they are going to look like when they are my age.

3. two things you love about spring are ..... ?

The New Beginings, baby animals (chicks, ducks and birds) and plants budding. Along with the nicer weather, other than the tornados. Living in Tornado Alley all my life, they do not bother me but I do watch the sky real close the end of April til the end of June.

4. when was the last time you went on a picnic?

So long ago I can't remember when it was. I have such fond memories of taking my young boys to the park or Palo Duro Canyon for a picnic and fun. I had forgotten how much fun it was. Guess what I am planning for Jerry and me for next weekend. I wonder if our phones will work down in the canyon. I will let you know next time.

5. what's your favorite app?

With my LOVE for photos and my youngest son making a BIG, BIG move with his family (taking my youngest GRANDson so far away) I will be using FLICKER a lot more then even before.

6. who does the grocery shopping in your house?

Sorry to say we both do it together, if I go by myself I come back with all the JUNK FOOD we do not need and if Jerry goes he comes back with nothing. He says all the stuff we do not need but then gripes cause there is nothing to fix for Dinner, but together we do fair to get what we need. HA HA

7. would you rather take a spin class or zumba?

I will have to get back to you on that one, I have done some research today and still have not the fogiest idea what these classes are. Even reading the others answers I can not figure out what a spin or zumba class are.

8. how often do you go out to dinner?

Sorry to say it is toooo much. Like I have said, I am not much of a cook but I get by. It is just to easy to run by Burger King or Pizza Hut and grab supper. And I really do enjoy going out for a quiet Supper at a nice restaurant at least twice a month, if I can get Jerry to go, he just wants to go get something and take it home. Oh well I am still working on him.

Well there are my answers for this week and I do hope you have had a SAFE and BLESSED WEEKEND. LOVE TO YOU ALL.

Getting to know you Sunday!/Wednesday

This is getting to be a habit. Where is the time going, I can not believe it is Wednesday again already. Here are my answers to Sunday's questions.

1. do you watch/read the news?

When I get the chance I watch the news but I also like to read the local Canyon paper when someone puts one in the breakroom. It is a good paper and I know the Editor, it is only published on Thursday and Sunday.

2. how would you describe your look?

I would defiantly say casual/comfortable, at my age I don't have to be in style any more so I just dress comfortable. That is most important to me now.

3. did you play sports in high school or college.

When I was in high school girls did not play competitive sports except against other classes in the same school (7a against 7b for example). With me being 5' 10" from the 6th grade to graduation I was always drafted for basketball season and a fair guard position. Girls back then were only allowed to play half court, 3 Guards and 3 Forwards from each team on each end of the court. Guess the powers that be thought we could not run the distance of a full court. I did go on and played Tennis at College. When I was in my first class to learn how to play tennis they made the announcement for anyone interested in being on the Tennis Team to stay after class and I did. I did make the team and I was number four player on the team, even though I had never touched a racket yet. Of course there were only four of us on the team. I was teamed with the number one player and we played against number two and three. That gave us a lot of play time.

4. would you rather give up lipstick/gloss or high heels?

Being 5' 10" most of my, life I have never worn high heels ever. Not even the low 2" ones. As for lipstick if I put any on it always turns bright red and with my use to be RED hair it never looked good, so I have never worn lipstick either but lip gloss is a different matter. I never go any where without a tube of gloss in my pocket and a back up in my purse. Yes, can give up heels easier than my gloss.

5. what is your favorite show to watch on tv?

That is easy, any craft show. I am always on the look out for a new craft to try, or at least adapt it to a craft I already do. YES I ADMIT IT I AM A CRAFT NUT. I have a room of unfinished projects for prof of it.

6. would you rather bake or cook?

I must admit I am not much of a cook or a baker, even my youngest son took homemaking in the 8th grade because "Someone in the family needs to know how to cook." Now if I could cook only for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve and Easter I would like that. I feel I have put on a feed or two. The last Christmas before our divorce I fed 60 people (all my family, his family and any one who had no where else to go was welcome at our house). The first Thanksgiving I was single I put out the word "I will fix a 20 lb turkey with dressing and gravy if you want anything else bring it." and I had 45 singles at my home. Not bad for a non cook, but I do like Burger King and Pizza Hut.

7. shorts or skirt?

My pick is a skorts, you know the shorts that look like a short skirt. How is that for an answer.

8. what's your favorite scary movie?

I gave never been a fan of the scary movies but my boys really enjoyed them for how the special effects were done. I took they to the movies a lot but learned real fast I did not sit between them, they thought it was so funny to goose me in the ribs to watch me jump even when it was not a scary part of the movie. THANKS A LOT GUYS. But the scary movie now days are so over the top and gross there is no way I want to watch them in any way.

THERE IS MY ANSWERS FOR THIS WEEK. HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GOOD REST OF THE WEEK AND MAKE IT A GREAT WEEKEND.

Has this been a FAST WEEK or what

I can not believe it is Thursday already. No Card Night to night for me. I am too tired and Jerry need some special attention. I have been gone from home all day. It was our District Meeting for Extension Club and yes my Cloud Group Photos are on their way to State Meeting in September. I took another 1st Place with a blue ribbon. I was so excited, Jerry just wanted to know what I won. When I told him only a ribbon and a chance to go to state all he said was "oh" that's OK I was excited enough for both of us.

Well guess I had better try to settle down for bed. We have some early Dr appts for early tomorrow. PLEASE KEEP JERRY IN YOUR PRAYERS WE HAVE GOT TO FIND SOME RELIEF FOR HIS SEVER BACK PAIN THAT IS NOW GOING DOWN INTO HIS LEGS. We were told 6 years ago he needed more surgery on his back (he has already had 2 on his back and 2 on his neck) but the pain Dr says he would not let any one cut on his back. Who do you listen to, I want another opinion to help make that decision.

Oh well we will see what this Dr has to say, we will know more tomorrow. Will let you know what we find out

LOVE YOU ALL. BE BLESSED AND MAKE IT A GOOD FRIDAY!!!

Getting to know you Sunday!

These are the questions I found on another blog. THANKS JEN

1. do you weigh yourself? No, I usually get the BAD news when I have to make a Dr visit. Here lately it has been staying fairly stable. As most women my age it would be better if it was about 40 lbs. less. Need to get back to Square Dancing to take care of it.

2. what is the nastiest thing you have ever tasted? It is hard to decide, I fairly much eat anything that won't eat me first. I guess anything with liver in it, when I was pregnant both times I got very anemic and the Dr needed to build me up so he wanted me to eat liver. I tried real hard but finally told them they would have to give me iron in pills or shots but I could not keep the liver down. Still.can not stand liver.

3. snail mail or email? I have never been able to write letters because of me spelling and I have never been good about sending cards. I do remember everyone's birthday and anniversary (sometimes a day late) but I do have good thoughts about them on their special days. Now that I'm getting better with my phone (stupid SWIPE) maybe I can be better on the emailed GOOD THOUGHTS about them.

4. do you have any irrational fears ........ what are they? I can honestly say "I have no FEAR". As a small child the first Bible verse I can remember hearing is " I DID NOT GIVE YOU THE SPIRIT OF FEAR " so to me fear is of the DEVIL and I will not accept it. There are a lot of thing I should fear but I don't, I just let GOD take care of them. I just realized I got a lot of that from my MOM, when I was growing up a lot of the time it was just to two of us cause DAD was off working jobs out of town. She was one very special lady and I wish I were more like her. THANKS MOM FOR THE FOUNDATION YOU GAVE ME.

5. do you play an instrument? Not any more, I took piano lessons and played the cello in grade school and switched to the clarinet in Jr High. I really enjoyed the Marching Band time. Some day I would really like to take guitar lessons just for my own pleasure.

6. would you rather be bitten by a snake or attacked by a bear? That's a hard question to answer, I guess bitten by a snake. I do not like snakes of any kind (even ones that do not bite) but he would bite then go away and I could tend to it where the bear would stay and keep on biting til I died. Yes I do believe I would rather a snake would bite me then a bear. I must say though I do not even like rubber snakes, when I was a merchandiser for Nationmark, a toy distributer, part of my job was to straighten up the toy isles of all three Albertson's in Amarillo, I had my sons go in and pick up all the snakes for me and put them where they were suppose to be cause I did not like to even touch them. THANKS GUYS FOR YOUR HELP.

7. do you ever go braless in public? No Way, I do not even go braless at home.

8. today I am thankful for ..... ? My family, my boys, my parents and the LOVE MY GOD HAS FOR ME!!!

HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT WEEK AND THE GOOD LORD BLESSES YOU IN A REAL SPECIAL WAY.

I can not believe it is Thursday again. CARD NIGHT

This has been a busy week at work, guess that's why time has passed so fast. I can not believe it is Card Night already. I have been looking over some of my old posts and it seems I have said "Story to follow later" and I have not been getting to the later. Well here is one to start.

About how I got three GRANDsons in one day. My oldest son, Gerry was getting married October 27, 2007 and Rich was coming up to be on the wedding. I was not too sure of the date especially when they decided on an outside wedding at a park, Rich and Ginger got married in a roadside park and it was BEAUTIFUL but it was July 25, 1998 not Oct. 27th. Mom of the groom never has much say but I knew the LOVE was there and trusted all to be OK. Renee had two sons and I was so excited about getting to be a Grandma. Bobby was 10 and Duncan was 5 but I was so glad to have them. I had just about given up on being a grandma and just settle on having GRANDcats instead. Well back to the wedding, with our wind and being the end of October I could not see going to the wedding without a very heavy-duty coat, but the kids would not even accept a back up plan. As it turned out one was not needed. It was a beautiful day (no wind) and just perfect temperature (not too cold or too hot), and the rose garden around was almost in full bloom. I have the photos to show. GOD WAS SURE IN CHARGE OF THIS WEDDING. Gerry even had a special part in the wedding, just after the union candles, where he made a vow to the boys as well as their Mom and gave them a cross necklace. I was so proud of him and wondered how he got so smart. Now back to my third GRANDson, Ginger was not able to attend the wedding, they just found out she was in a family way and not able to make the drive up from Dallas. SO IN ONE DAY I WAS BLESSED WITH THREE WONDERFUL GRANDsons.

Wile we were waiting for Jack to get here, my sister told me how GREAT, GRANDKIDS were. I told her after raising my boys and that there could be nothing better than them, I said "NO WAY". Well not better, just different. When you are the Mom it is "Do your homework, Eat your vegetables and Clean your room." now at Mamaw's house, it is all bets off, "What happens at Mamaw's stays at Mamaw's" GRANDsons are the best thing God ever invented. Being a GRANDma is the best occupation to have.

But now it is getting late and my chores are not done so I can play Cards tonight. HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GOOD REST OF THE WEEK AND AN EVEN BETTER WEEKEND. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

Yea for Card Night to keep my sanity

It is so nice that a little game of cards can help you feel so good. Even if you have to put it off just a little bit. The girl that worked in the Photo Lab when I started back there, the main one who trained me, will graduate from college in May and will be going back home to South Texas to start teaching, so we all got together for a little LOVE YOU, MISS YOU ALREADY gathering at Chilies. The food way so good and the company was even better. I have not laughed so much in a long time. We are all a really close group. Two are working at another Wal-Mart Photo Lab now, two are working at another job now (one is teaching in Canyon and the other is working for an insurance company), one is working in another department at our Wal-Mart and two of us are still in our Photo Lab. We have been through a lot with each other, one finished school-started teaching and had a baby now 1&1/2, one had a baby now 2&1/2 and went back to school, one got married, I became a TRIPLE GRANDma in one day (story to follow at a later time) and had a Heart Attack at work back on July 23rd last year (more on that story later too but I must say Amy one at the gathering drove me to the hospital and probably saved my life) THANKS AMY. NEEDLESS TO SAY WE ARE A VERY CLOSE BUNCH OF FRIENDS. It is hard to let one of my chicks fly on her own so far away. She is the one who started everyone calling me Momma Lyn. In writing this I am realizing how much these girls mean to me. THANK YOU LORD FOR BRINGING THEM TO ME AND ME TO THEM.

On with the cards though I did get to go to Ernie's and played cards to so tonight has been a PERFECT NIGHT. We just played one game but for a change I won. The cards were just falling just right.

HOPE EVERYONE IS HAVING AS GOOD OF A WEEKEND AS I AM AND IT'S JUST HALF OVER.

Today was a strange day at work

This has to be one of the strangest day I have ever survived. At home things were just as usual, no surprises there, but work was a different matter. Just as I walked to the time clock our new Department Manager (we have just got trained as to how we want things to run-she has just been over us for 5 months now) let me know she was leaving as of the first of April. She and her husband are in the process of adopting their 5 grandkids so they will not be split up, and she feels she needs to be a stay at home GRANDMA/MOM. I am excited for her but feel sorry for her at the same time. I want so desperately to be full-time GRANDma to my GRANDson but they need their Mom and Dad there too. PLEASE KEEP HER AND ALL HER FAMILY IN YOUR PRAYERS. Wonder who they will get to replace her and how long it will take to train who ever it is. I have been in the Photo Lab 4 years now and we have had 4 different Department Managers plus the one that knows the most about the equipment and computers was the Dept. Mgr. before them. Do not know what we would do without Mr. Fix It. He is the best, we really miss him when he takes a vacation or any time off. When he gets back his first question is, "What did you break wile I was gone." then he fixes it, what ever it was. Wish he would go back to being the Boss, things sure would run smooth if he would. Oh well enough on that, the rest was a busy day but not crazy. Fridays are a bad day, just two of us working all day. Jennifer is 8-5 and I am 1-10. Makes it hard to cover breaks and lunches, but we get it done. Enough about work, just know I am looking forward to Card Night Saturday. I really missed playing cards Thursday but Jerry needed that time for just us. It was so nice, we need to do it again soon.

HOPE EVERYONE HAS A SAFE AND BLESSED WEEKEND. LOVE TO YOU ALL.

Day Off Blues

As usual Thursday is my regular day off and I had a lot of chores listed that needed to be done, but only three got done but I did have a good day. Did not even get to play cards tonight, oh well there is always Saturday. For one time Jerry and I enjoyed just being together today. His leg is still bothering him real bad but we have set a Dr appointment for next Thursday. His pain Dr did some blood work at our last visit and did not like the results he got but it was not his field so we have to check in with the family Dr for his say in the matter. We will see next Thursday. As for Calvin and his wife Sue, they are doing real good on their own. God is doing some GOOD work there and he is getting better. THANK YOU LORD.

Well it is really late and I need to get a little sleep tonight so I will be ready to work tomorrow.
HOPE EVERYONE HAS A FUN AND BLESSED WEEKEND. MORE ON THE LIFE OF RAINBOW MOM TOMORROW. LOVE TO YOU ALL

Getting to know you Sunday - a little late

Spotted this on another blog and wanted to participate but was having trouble with my phone. HOPE YOU ENJOY!

1. if you won the title of miss America what would your platform be? After the 12th my 2 year old GRANDson was in his first PROTEST MARCH in Austin. His Momma and Dada are both teachers. I never dreamed the state was considering cutting education funding. That is our future they are dealing with and it really scares me. PLEASE KEEP OUR LEGISLATORS AND EDUCATORS IN YOUR PRAYERS.

2. outdoorsy or indoorsy? When the boys were home I was definitely outdoorsy but now my couch is very inviting after work.

3. pajamas out in public classy or tree tacky? DOUBLE TACKY and very disgusting.

4. what is you favorite room in your house? My house - Living Room in front of our 50" TV. My sister's house - defiantly her Kitchen.

5. nook, kindle or book? Have never been much of a reader (but thanks to Jen and Ginger I am getting better) books are a whole new world to me and I have started reading more than I have ever read in my life. I think I would enjoy a Kindle very much so it is now on my wish list for some day. Soon I hope, maybe next bonus check.

6. would you rather ware the same outfit for a week or not brush your teeth for a week? No way could I stand to go a week without brushing my teeth, I would go NUTS!

7. favorite blog at the moment. Of course bugbarn.blogsopt.com (my GRANDson's blog), Following the Footsteps (shaemata.blogspot.com) and a new one to me countrybymarriage.com (we are so much alike it is scary, except she is just starting her family and my boys are all grown with sons of their own).

8. lately i've been daydreaming about ......... How much FUN I will have when I get to retire and be a FULL TIME GRANDMA like my folks were. I can't help but feel my GRANDsons are missing out especially the two that live close to me. I want to be with them so much and there just is no time with me working most nights 1 - 10. Guys Mamaw is trying to be there for you and I do LOVE YOU SOOOO MUCH. I am so proud of all you do and all you are. Mom and Dad are doing a GOOD JOB.

So there are my answers, now you know a little more about me.
HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GOOD REST OF THE WEEK AND A SUPER SAFE and GREAT WEEKEND.

Sorry for not posting sooner

I have been real busy but most of all my phone has been in the shop til this morning and I have been going through phone withdrawal. Not much FUN, but worse of all they now have swipe on it and I am having a hard time getting use to it. It does not HELP me with my spelling like my other keyboard did. If you see something really strange and out of place, my keyboard did it not me. HA HA I have to be the worse at spelling that has ever been. My class was an experament, we were sent all through school without any phonics to see what would happen. What they got was a bunch of seniors who couldn't spell or enjoy reading a good book. I even took phonics in college but it was too late. I can hear the individual letters but if you put two or three letters together for one sound I have no clue. What is strange is I can spell medical terminology but the easy words I have trouble with. I could sell bilateral salpango ufrectomy then misspelled possible historectomy, I could never remember if it was able or ible. My RN's use to always laugh at me on surgery permits. Oh well them were the DAY'S. Now the hardest words I spell at work are Passport Photo.

Any way enough on my problems. HOPE YOU MAKE IT A REALLY GOOD WEEK AND A BLESSED WEEK. LOVE YA

It is so nice to have a national holiday for all us IRISH, and I feel it is nice of us to share with everyone else. Hope you are having a Good Day mine has been hectic but FUN. It is my day off so as usual there are a lot of things that need to be done, but some will have to wait til Saturday. Besides today is Card Night. Well got to run to get a few things done so Jerry will let me go play Cards.

Time Change weekend is NOT my favorite time

I still can not see how Day Light Savings Time helps any one. It sure does not help the farmer like they said it was for. I know from experience the tractors can be lighted up bright as day so you can plow all night if you wanted to. To me it is just a nuisance especially in the Spring. I have never been able to spring forward very fast, it takes me for ever to get my body clock back to working half way right. But just when things do smoth out it is time for Fall Back and here we go again. At least for most of the school teachers they will have Spring Break to help get adjusted somewhat.

HOPE EVERYONE HAS A SPECIAL SPRING BREAK AND A SAFE ONE. Especially the ones I know taking special Christian Witness Time and the group going to Cambodia and band going to Washington DC. ALL GOOD KIDS WITH A STRONG LOVE FOR THE LORD. Some times I get a deep burden for what the KIDS these days are facing, But it is so encourageing to see them DEPENDING ON GOD FOR GUIDANCE. THERE IS HOPE FOR OUR FUTURE WORLD.

Finish up last nights post

Could not let the post from yesterday go just yet. Had to share:

Jen's Mom's Famous Potatoes Casserole.

2 lbs Frozen Hashbrown Potatoes ( cubed )
1/2 cup melted Butter
1 t Salt
1 can Cream of Potato Soup
1 pint Sour Cream
1 cup Cheddar Cheese

1/4 cup Butter
2 cups Cornflakes ( crushed )

Thaw potatoes and mix the first 6 ingredients. Put in 9 x 13 pan or dish. Melt 1/4 cup butter. Put melted butter and corn flakes on top.
Bake 350 degrees for 45 / 60 minutes

The first time I fixed this I thought I had corn flakes at home but they were Frosted Flakes. Did not have time to get some so I used them instead. It was really good but the original recipe was the best.

HOPE EVERYONE LOVES THIS AS MUCH AS I DO. Every time you fix this PLEASE remember Jen and her WONDERFUL MOM. Jen is a TERRIFIC person and I know it is her Mom and Dad that made her that way. Have a great rest of the week and a SUPER GREAT WEEKEND and GOD BLESS

Hope everone has had as GOOD a weekend as I have

This has been one of the best weekends ever for me. Hope everyone has had as much FUN as I have this weekend, I have done none of my chores like I needed to, but got the essentials in (washed enough clothes to ware to work for this week). Had to work yesterday and I was the only one in the Photo Lab all day. It was nice that it was just busy enough to keep things steady but not so busy it was CRAZY like it is sometimes. Photo counts have gone down since Valentine's Day but not as far down as they have been. I had 784 prints yesterday plus a steady stream of customers on the HP Instant Print machine, all in all a real GOOD day. Customers are so funny with their pictures. You can tell so quick if they are copying shot that are not allowed or permitted. You know copyrighted photos or photos that do not need to be printed. I guess they do not realize we have to look at every photo that goes through our lab. For me that is the best part of my work. I love pictures even if I don't know the people in them. All the kids, babies and best of all the just plain landscape shots with no people in it. Thank goodness we do not have too many discussing shoots but we do have a lot of the copyright shots try to sneak through, you can look at a photo and tell if it was made in a studio or not. They get real up set when I have to say " I can not sell you that copy, it is against Wal-Mart Policy " oh well that is part of my job too.

HOPE EVERYONE HAD A GOOD WEEKEND AND AN EVEN BETTER WEEK.
GOD BLESS YOU

Saturday means it's Cards Night

We just got a little card playing in tonight, only two games, but I really needed that brake from all that has been going on. It was just Ernie, Sammie (her sister) and me but we did have FUN. Everything is about the same with Calvin and it looks like Sue is doing a good job of taking care of him. Of course we are less than a hundred yards away if she needs help. HOPE EVERYONE IS HAVING A SPECIAL WEEKEND TO LEAD INTO ONE GREAT WEEK.

Got to run get the rest of my weekend chores done then BED. LOVE YOU ALL!!

Sorry everyone, things have been a little crazy here the last few days

You know we have been having problems with my husbands brother. Well things are not getting any better yet. We got the news that the medical team want to have Calvin to go to hospice care. When I was the major care giver for their Dad wile he was in the hospital and it was decided he should go to hospice I had no say in it, it was their Mom, the three boys and their older sister's decision. To this day Calvin feels the people there killed Dad (I know better but can not convince him of it). Now they want him to go to Hospice. How do you make that decision when you feel like he does. He is not getting any better and doesn't look like he ever will. Death in the Costley family is scary, they are not strong Christians if Christians at all. I have tried to teach by actions cause I learned real fast they do not take to being preached to or asked questions about stuff like that. I AM SO GLAD ALL MY SIDE OF THE FAMILY HAVE OUR TICKETS READY, AND JUST WAITING FOR OUR LORD TO CALL US HOME. Please keep all of us in your prayers, and SPECIAL, KEEP ME ALERT TO GOD'S GUIDANCE ON WHAT TO SAY OR DO TO GET ALL OF THEM WHERE THEY NEED TO BE WITH GOD.

For me I do not see how I could handle one second of my day if I did not know, without any question GOD WAS THERE WITH ME ALL THE WAY. He is my strength and provider. THANK YOU LORD FOR BEING THERE FOR ME!!!

Just a little add on, I just got off work, Jerry just picked me up and told me Calvin has been released from the hospital to have Hospice Care at home. Hope this will not be too much for Sue to handle. I can only do so much and still keep my job at Wal-Mart . Keep us in your prayers. THANKS TO EVERYONE.

Hope everone has had as GOOD a day as I have

Today has been a super Great Day for me, we did not burn up last night when so many families did, 30 or 40 homes, 27 buildings and 1 business (a kennel with 60 dogs only 20 were saved). A lot of multi million dollar homes at Lake Tanglewood not to mention all the homes in Pallasaids Area. I still am trying to reach a very dear older friend, at least 85 or 90 years old, who use to live in Mescalero Park area near my sister, that got hit the hardest. THERE IS A LOT OF SADNESS TODAY ALONG WITH A LOT OF THANKSGIVING. This is one way to see what really is important FAMILY. I have always joked with Jerry about if we ever had a fire he would be on his own cause I would be saving my Photos, he told me I would be on my own cause he would be saving his GUNS. Guess I know where I stand. HA HA HA

Seriously we need to remember all the families who are literally homeless tonight and hope they know GOD IS THERE AND CAN HELP IN EVERY WAY. MY HEART IS BREAKING FOR THEM. I can not imagine starting over from scratch.

Just to add a note: Matille and her husband are fine as well as their home. They still live out there and the way I found out she was OK I called the Potter County Extension Office to see if anyone had heard from her. The ladies I was talking to said "She is OK and was even at the office this morning." That sounds like her, not much can get her down.

I finally get a chance to have my say about today

First of all, last night sure was a short sleep night, but it was defiantly worth it for me. I just forgot I had to be at work at 9 this morning. It sure was hard getting up this morning but work did go well even if I wasn't up to speed. Guess this old lady is not as young as I use to be. I was just glad I did not work the 12-9 shift tonight. About 2 Max got a call from his girlfriend and she told him about a grass fire out by where he lives. After that we started hearing the customers talk about the fires. Evidently there were several of them with all the high wind today. Right now I am waiting for the news to come on so I can tell which stories were true and which were hear say. I pray it's not as bad as they were saying. All I know for sure is it sure caused a lot of trouble at work. To start with we had several power failures, just imagine the FUN getting all the equipment back up and running in the Photo Lab (so glad Max was here, he is a wiz with the computers) and when we had things running smooth it would happen again and we would start all over again. I lost count on how many times. I was just glad I got off at 6, hope Max is OK or just totally shut the lab down, will find out tomorrow. Max opens in the morning and I come in 1-10. Guess we will see then. Hope nothing is broken BAD you know how fragile this new high tech stuff is. Keep me in your prayers tomorrow, I feel I am going to need it.

Other than this, it was a really good LORD'S DAY. HOPE YOUR'S WAS BLESSED AND A PLEASURE.

Just heard on the news, it was 3 fires (not under control yet). One out here just east of us (winds out of the west) so we are OK, and one out east of my sister Dee and one out southwest of Canyon where Max lives. Looks like it is trying to get all our attention. WELL IT IS WORKING. THANK YOU LORD FOR BEING HERE WITH US. LORD be with the 56 families who have lost their home today. One point I wish to make, the two places the people who were forced to evacuate their homes went to two churches. River Road Baptist and Cowboy Church, yea for God's people getting in there to help.

Today (or yesterday) has been a DOUBLE GOOD day

To start with Ernie had some cancellations so she called to see if I wanted her to do my hair for me. I was thrilled, why does it always can make you feel so good for someone else to fix your hair. Jerry did not fuss and took me over to her shop for her to bring me home. Of course we had to go by her house and play a little card game or two or three. We had so much FUN and I ended up not keeping up with who all was playing or even who won. At first it was playing partners, Ernie and her brother Bruce against Sammie, Ernie's sister and me. Sammie and I won and I thought Bruce got upset cause he lost but I guess not cause when Ernie had to go help Terrie (Ernie's daughter) with her horses he played a set with Sammie and me. We had so much fun. When Ernie and Terrie got back we played again, cut throat not partners til Terrie got tired and Ernie, Sammie and I played two more games. Ernie's last appointment was at 11:30 this morning and we are just now finishing up so I could go home. We were having so much fun I can not remember who won or lost but we did have some more fun. GOOD FRIENDS BEING TOGETHER AND HAVING FUN IS THE BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD, and believe it or not Ernie is Jerry's first wife, but that is another story for later. She is and always has been my very best friend since we met 6 months after Jerry and I married.

For now I hope everyone is having as good of a weekend as I am and WILL ENJOY CHURCH GATHERINGS TOMORROW. AS ALWAYS MAKE IT A GOOD DAY. THANK YOU LORD FOR THE DAY I HAVE HAD TODAY.

Friday, February 25, 2011

Just wanted to say HI, HOPE YOU HAVE A SAFE, HAPPY WEEKEND

Well I must say I am ready for the weekend to get here. This has been a long week. But it is going to be a very special day tomorrow, my oldest son turns 41. I called Renee (his lovely wife) today to see what they had planned, and she said for now there are no set plans, but when they did it would include me. Last year when he turned 40 she planned and pulled off a surprise trip to Vegas. THE LORD BLESSED US VERY MUCH WHEN HE BROUGHT HER AND THE BOYS TO OUR FAMILY. THANK YOU GERRY FOR FOLLOWING HIS GIDANCE.

Well guess I had better close for tonight and rest up a little for tomorrow, WITH SINCERE WISHES THAT YOUR WEEKEND WILL BE AS GOOD AS MINE. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

Vote is still out on if today is a GOOD or BAD day

It is really hard to decide if today is GOOD or BAD. It was scary at first, Sue (Jerry's sister-in-law) called this morning needing help with Calvin (Jerry's brother). We as a group convinced him to go to the Dr and let him decide if he needed to go to the hospital. We have been trying for three days now to get him to go to the hospital where he refused to go, but needed to go. He will usually go when I ask him to, but he was insistent that he did not want to go. Fooled him, Doc took one look at him and sent him straight to the hospital. Now we have all that to do, which should have been done three days ago. Once we get him settled and Sue situated now I can start my chores, wrong, he was worried about his dog. Jerry volunteers to let Binkey come stay with us. Keep in mind we have a male dog in our backyard who does not like female people or female dogs (strange), a female dog who loves everyone in our front yard, a black cat who has been in the house by herself for 9 years and a new kitten we have had for less than a month. When Jr came to stay with us we realized Blackie had never been around another animal let alone another female cat. They were just starting to tolerate each other and Dad brings in another stranger and of all things a DOG. Now this will never do, has Dad turned into a horder or something. I have no way to tell her Binkey is just for a little wile, so every time they get close to each other there is a STRONG discusdion. Hope she settles down when Binkey goes home and she gets back to liking Jr.

The GOOD part of today is Jerry did not fuss when Ernie called to see if I could play cards tonight. Right now I am over playing cards with Ernie and her sister Sammie. Things are good now I won the first hand and Ernie won the last. We will see who wins the final hand and game.

I JUST ASK THAT YOU KEEP CALVIN IN YOUR PRAYERS (GOD'S WILL BE DONE) AND HOW EVER IT TURNS OUT, PLEASE PRAY FOR SUE, she is not in good health herself and needs all the HELP we can give.

PS - On the card game I won the first game and Ernie won the second so bad if we added Sammie and my score together she would have still won. That's OK Sammie beat us bad last time. Guess it has been a GOOD DAY AFTER ALL.

Terrific day at work today

As bad as yesterday was, today has been GREAT. It did start a little bad, a college student was my first customer today. He needed to get a new camera to take with him to Cambodia during Spring Break. Yes Jen Spring Break is just around the corner. We talked about all his options and he decided on one. About 2 hours later I was called to the service desk to check out a camera being brought back. When I got up there to my surprise it was the same kid I just spent 1 hour helping him pick it out. He looked a little embarrassed when he told me when he got back to the dorm his Mom called to tell him she had bought him a camera. I laughed and tried to put him at ease by saying "That's what Moms are for, it's in our contract." He laughed and I added to have a safe trip and told him he would still be in my prayers wile he would be over there. I also stressed I wanted to see his Photos when he got back.

After that the rest of the day was great but I was real glad when it was over. I am just real glad I am off tomorrow to recover fully. Guess I had better put the lights out and get some rest so I cam get my chores done tomorrow so I can go play cards tomorrow night. GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND MAKE THE REST OF YOUR WEEK THE BEST YET. MAKE IT GOOD.

Tonight was areally bad night.

At work tonight we were really having challenges, to start with we had a skeleton crew anyway, then half called in sick and I know of nine that got sent home sick. I had to cover Photo Lab, Electronics, Sporting Goods, Hardware and Toys. Photo Lab I feel good in, meaning I know what I am telling the customer. In Electronics I have learned a little so I can help customers but in Sporting Goods, Hardware and Toys I am all bluff. I was glad I only had a few customers in those areas. In Sporting Goods all I sold was 8 boxes of bullets and they knew what they wanted. I am still going to take it up with Management tomorrow that they owe me 5 times the time on me time card for tonight. I was doing the work of 5 people. Seems fair to me, but I do not feel they will see it my way. Well got to go for now, I'm so tired I can not hold my eyes open. Will talk more tomorrow. GOD BLESS, AND MAKE IT A GREAT REST OF THE WEEK. Tomorrow is HUMP DAY, we can make it.

Really a GOOD DAY TODAY

I had to work today but it was an early day 9-6 so I have had a relaxing enjoyable evening with my husband. My usual shift for Sunday is 12-9 and 1-10 the rest of the week. I have spent most of the evening relaxing and doing nothing. So much FUN. HOPE EVERYONE HAS HAD A RELAXING WEEKEND AS I HAVE. GOD BLESS EVERYONE AND MAKE IT A GOOD WEEK.

Happy Birthday to my dear husband

To day has been a another day trying to get four days of work done in one day, but the best part was my husband had another birthday today. He really turned 73 today but he still says he is 69 again. HA HA if he is 69 that makes me 57 (I think I like that kind of math). With all we had to get done today I hope he enjoyed his day. At our age (what ever it is) it is always nice to make it another year.

Another DAY on the Funny Farm

To start with, today was my usual day off. My usual day to get most of my "Chores" done HA HA. It started at 6 this morning with a call from Calvin and Sue (Jerry's brother and sister-in-law) needing someone to get Calvin's oxygen out of their car. They left it out there when they got out of it yesterday. Of a morning Jerry doesn't get around well because of his back so guess who got dressed and went to get the oxygen. Oh well that is what family do. Sue also asked if I could take her on a few errands which I said "Fine call when you are ready to go." Wile I was at United getting us some groceries Jerry called to say went I got home we had to go get their medicine and they were going to stay in today. No problem, we had turned in the prescriptions yesterday so all we had to do was to go by and pick them up. When we tried we were informed the Dr had not signed one of the prescriptions so we had to take it to him to get him to sign it. Fine on the way to the office I called and they had closed at noon. Went on in and the nurse said we had to take a new prescription to the Dr on call. She said his office was in Medi Park and I went straight to Media Park Drive but could not find a Dr Williamson there, he was at Media Park room 2002, I went straight to 2001, they laughed and said he was across the hall. I got the autograph and on back to the pharmacy, as we were starting for home we get a call. Can we go by Wendy's and get some hamburgers to take home and get some for us too. When we did get home Ernie was calling about cards tonight and Jerry was the one who.asked if I could do some wash wile we played and she said yes. So now I am over here washing clothes and playing cards wile he is home washing more clothes so we can get caught up finally.

I don't know whst happened to my post yeaterday, but I lost it

I had a post yesterday but lost it and now I am so tired I don't remember what it was. Must not have been very important. Oh well on with today. Photo counts were back down to the usual 387, not bad for a Wednesday but not like the 2746 yesterday. Maybe things will get back to normal now. My husband surprised me tonight when he picked me up at work at 10 pm, I was really tired but he wanted to go eat out. Unusual for us,so late and in the middle of the week. The more he talked the more hungry I got. Then the problem, there is no place open in Canyon at 10 o'clock at night. He had a choice of Whataburger, Waffle House, I-Hop or Denny's in Amarillo. He picked Denny's and it sure was good. I am stuffed to the gills now but really ready for BED now. Will write more tomorrow, HOPE EVERYONE HAD A GREAT DAY AND EVEN BETTER TOMORROW.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY EVERYONE

I thought yesterday was BAD but today was worse. I still did a little over 2000 prints today, and I think every school class sent someone over to print photos of all the students to make Valentine's Day cards for the paremts. They were really cute and I was busy trying to take notes on what they were doing (cause they were so cute) and use them myself next year. How do teachers get so smart. THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE NEW IDEAS, THEY WERE GREAT.

Another good thing about today, my Extention Club had their Valentine Party today and we had to turn in our Cultural Arts Project for this years competition. We are judged county legal with 1st and 2nd place winners going to District Meeting in April. If you get a 1st place there you get to go to State Meeting in Setember. This is the first year I have entered anything, you have 20 categories you can enter. I had picked out 4 I had interest in and a possible 3 more. With all that, I ended up finishing 1. Can you guess PHOTOGRAPHY - Black and White or Color. I still don't like the idea of Color and B & W being judged together but that is another goal for me but this year my Collection of Sky photos in one frame marked "God's Handwork" was in the computation. Evidently they liked it as much as I did. I got First place so it is on to district for me. As soon as I can figure out how to set up photos on my blog I'll let you see it, as you can see I still don't even have my photo on my blog. I am still taking baby steps with my blog, but I am still so thrilled I even have it. THANKS JEN FOR ALL YOUR HELP AND ENCOURAGEMENT .

Good Night for now, HOPE EVERYONE HAD AS NICE A VALENTINE'S DAY AS I HAVE. And things just keep getting better.

I thought Christmas was busy - Not like Valentine's Day

At Christmas I though everyone was giving Photos to every one on their list. Well I guess some got missed cause it is double bad for Valentine's Day. That or everyone has cabin fever with all the snow and cold weather and Wal-Mart Photo Lab is the place to hang out. I have not checked the numbers yet but I know I have done at least 1000 photos and cards today. On top of that the morning guy did not make it in and I have been here since 10 and just now getting a brake called lunch. Oh well guess I should be glad I get a lunch. I must admit I have seen a lot of fantastic photos and cards today. HOPE WHOEVER GETS THEM ENJOYS THEM AS MUCH AS I HAVE MAKING THEM. One little older lady came in and wanted me to scan in 15 of her old old photos (she needed them to take to her husband in the nursing home) they turned out so GOOD it made me feel good to help her out. She just kept thanking me when she picked them up and said they looked better than the originals.

THAT'S WHAT MAKES IT WORTH ALL THE CRAZINESS GOING ON. I just got off and I ended up doing over 2000 prints today. Kind of busy for a Sunday.

HOPE EVERYONE HAS A SUPER VALENTINE'S DAY AND ARE CLOSE TO YOUR LOVED ONES. MAKE IT A GOOD DAY.

Catch up is bad to try and do in one day

I have said before I had done a day and a half in one day but I feel I did three days work today. Can't wait to get back to Wal-Mart tomorrow and work and get paid for it. I just figured it out and I have done one weeks wash and two weeks dishes in one day. Plus I had a chance to visit with my youngest GRANDson (Jack has been on a visit from Dallas) wile he stayed with his other grandmother here. What a time for all this water trouble wile he has been here since last Saturday DARN THE LUCK. Oh well maybe I can get more of him next time.

You don't appreciate somethings til you don't have them for a wile

I think I have never enjoyed a SHOWER in my life like I did that one last night. It felt sooooooo good. Next on the agenda is getting my hair washed. That has to wait til tomorrow when I have my next day off. That's the day I get caught up on the clothes washing and dishes done. So much for a day off.

They just moved the corner

This has really been a day and a half. So much for my day off. The insurance agent was here a little after noon and bad news, our problems are bad but not more than the deductible. Oh well. The good thing is the hot water repair man is here now and says he will have it finished tonight. Yea! Hot shower tonight even if it is at midnight. THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING GOOD IN EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS, sometimes you have to look really hard for it though.

Looks like we are turning the corner

Looks like the worst is over for now. It is still only 1 outside but we finally had a little moisture in the air so we got a little SNOW. When I got off work at 10 last night it was really nasty. When Jerry came to get me, he came at 8:30 and just wondered around Wal-Mart til I got off. I had to close down Electronics and of course the overnight girl was late. Grumpy was not too happy when I didn't get off til 10:30. He said when he was on his way to W-M it was blowing snow so hard it was White Out conditions most of the way. He really liked having an extra pair of eyes on the way home, and it wasn't too bad. We did have cases of horizontal snow. Most people have not experienced horizontal snow or rain but it happens a lot around here. Our WIND can be rather strong. I am told hurricane winds are 70 mph, that is a light breeze around here. I also know that is why we have such good air here, it blows all the uck to Lubbock. HA HA!

Long story short, I am glad we are almost back to normal. The high is suppose to be 18 today and -1 tonight but the rest of the week will be more normal. WILL SHARE MORE AFTER I THOUGH OUT A LITTLE .HPOE EVERYONE HAS A BLESSED DAY LIKE ME. At work I do not say "Have a nice day." I have never been a fan of that statement. I say "Make it a nice day." Then if that ask I say "That is the one thing I have control of." SO I SAY TO YOU "MAKE IT A NICE DAY!"

One more thought, I can not go til I say one personal point. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MY DEAR SISTER AND HER WONDERFUL HUSBAND. They have been Blessed with each other for 59 years now. As a tag along sister I even had the privilege to go on a lot of their dates and I was only 2. Thanks Bill for being such a big part of my life and showing me how beautiful LOVE can be. Thanks Dee for bringing him to our family.

Correction: I just found out I was 17 months old when I started going on their dates. BUT THANKS GUYS FOR YOUR EXAMPLE OF WHAT LOVE CAN BE. You have accomplished so much in your lives and share that with everyone, and your kids and GRANDkids could not do without GGMAW and GGPAW. Hope you have the day you DESERVE .
